I met Will for too short a time, but in that short time, I knew he would be such an asset to the village which, with Leanne, he had made his home. When I knew his work was in English history, I very early on, asked if he would do a short book for Bampton Archive, on old maps of the area. He was so willing to to do it and so enthusiastic and the book, when it was done, was not just knowledgeable and informative, but written with a beautiful, poetic style. I am so sorry we have lost him. We have lost his knowledge, his enthusiasm and love of his subject, and I know this village would have embraced him.
God rest you, Will.
