So sorry to hear of Will's passing. I only worked with him for a while in the Bristol office of Historic England but he was a pleasure to know. I know he will be missed.

I met Will for too short a time, but in that short time, I knew he would be such an asset to the village which, with Leanne, he had made his home. When I knew his work was in English history, I very early on, asked if he would do a short book for Bampton Archive, on old maps of the area. He was so willing to to do it and so enthusiastic and the book, when it was done, was not just knowledgeable and informative, but written with a beautiful, poetic style. I am so sorry we have lost him. We have lost his knowledge, his enthusiasm and love of his subject, and I know this village would have embraced him. God rest you, Will.

We were lucky to work with Will on the South West business team at HE. He was always enthusiastic, incredibly knowledgeable, and great fun to be around. Sending our condolences to all of Will's family and friends.

I’m so very very sad to hear of Will’s passing. Such a kind warm and funny person. He will be very much missed.

Will was a clever, witty, funny person who had more interests and hobbies (in number and variation!) than anyone I've ever known. Every team dinner we'd discover another of his stories, a place he'd been or a thing he'd casually done in his spare time that others do as a full time pursuit. I feel privileged to have known Will and he will be greatly missed by everyone who had the good fortune to cross his path.

Will, we have lost you far too soon. Holding on to happy memories of your excellent Duplo skills at our house, tours of the greenhouse at yours, Cambodian takeaways and hours of chat, and your fascinating knowledge of history. Be at peace.
